Desolation Sound - Anacortes via Texada Island, Nanaimo, Gabriola Passage, Sucia Island.

Playing in powerboat wakes, Chivers Point, Wallace Island

Near Entrance Island lighthouse the winds are almost always exciting. Here 16-18 knots of following breeze.

Guests aboard

Unnamed narrow cove near Half Moon Bay, Sunshine Coast. Merry island in the left background. This snug anchorage is guarded by rocks, even in the entrance, and dries on spring ebbs.

Porlier light and Turnstone in the background.

Stretching the capacity of the 8 foot Achilles dinghy

Finally the wind eased and the sheets were let out after beating into a 15-17kn headwind for two hours in the early morning. Lawrence Point, Orcas island.

Portland Island, Gulf Islands, BC

Faint trails and careful route finding let us to the empty south shore of West Redonda, Desolation Sound. Bjorn with flotsam.
